Adrenalin Rush

January 31st, 2009

Skiing can provide a real adrenalin rush and that is probably why most first-time skiers get hooked on the sport and cannot wait to return to the piste.

When you become an adept skier there is little to compare with the feeling of the rush of the freezing air, the sense of sheer speed, the feeling of ulitmate freedom and exhilaration of skiing…

But some folks like to take things a step further…

Here are some adrenalin rush examples that illustrate something of just how addictive skiing can become:

Extreme Skiing

Fred Syversen, an extreme skier from Norway admirably demonstrates how skiing can get gallons of adrenalin flowing…Note how he neatly stops on sheer mountain faces to let the avalanches of snow he displaces ‘go by’ - one cool customer:

Speed Ski-gliding

A short excerpt from François Bon’s and Antoine Montant’s world first - speed ski gliding down the Eiger!

Maybe not for beginner skiers to attempt - but here you can feel something of the adrenalin rush from the safety of your PC monitor:

And Another Rush of Adrenalin…

…From Jamie Pierre “Professional Skier” (!) who seemes to be on a crusade to kill himself before he ‘retires’ from extreme ski jumping…This jump looks a little risky and is definitely not to be tried until you are a highly proficient skier..and/or clinically insane:
